Part C - Sustainability

Sustainable by design. Better for all.

As Australia’s newest airport, we have the unique opportunity to design and deliver an airport that is committed to sustainability from the beginning. Sustainability is about how we design, construct and operate and it’s also about our positive impact on the community – the people and their prosperity, as well as the planet.

We’ve created an airport that’s ready for the future – and a legacy that will last a lifetime. Driven by a clear sustainability ethos, we have designed WSI to become a 100% renewable energy airport.

Mitigating environmental impacts is crucial for WSI’s sustainable operations. Environmental management at the airport prioritises a collaborative, proactive approach, to prevent or minimise potential construction and operational impacts. We are dedicated to working with all parties to ensure regulatory compliance and to deliver positive environmental outcomes for today and the future.

Building a more sustainable airport is more than leading the way to net zero. It includes considering all the ways we can play a greater part for Australia, for the planet and for people – in Western Sydney and beyond.
